Sterling Memories.....

I picked up this little guy when I was in Vietnam last.

I had such an amazing time! I was there for 9 weeks and never travelled so much in all my life.

Each time I come home and go back again, I have to "re-learn" how to cross the streets!
To a "novice" (which I was, but consider myself no more) it is utterly frightening to attempt to walk the roads alone. Even with an expert one needs to be extra careful. But all the Green Cross Codes in the world will not help you if you are not determined to reach the other side.

I witnessed many a ditherer; tiptoeing and step stammering, almost causing a collision, and it was throught them ( and a fear for my life ) that taught me to cross safely and soundly!

Make sure your first step into the street is firm and decisive; do not waver; acknowledge the vehicles on the road but step out and move steadily, knowing that the high-speeding bikes WILL avoid YOU!

Believe all this and you will find yourself on the otherside!!!!

Next year ( hopefully ) on my return, I will be revising my very own words ;)
