The Whalers Tunnel
The Whalers Tunnel below the Round House in Fremantle was built by the Fremantle Whaling Company in 1837 to allow the company easy access between Fremantle town and Bathers Beach.
It runs beneath the original Fremantle Goal buildt in 1831 and was 57 metres long.
Today it still provides access from the City of Fremantle to the Beach and the nearby Port for walkers, locals and tourists alike.
