Desert Island Discs Challenge: Day 2
So have you guessed what the song is yet?
Just say what you see!
Some clues:
'Well Kirsty, [Kirtsy Young - presenter] this song takes me right back to the time when Steve Wright was still on Radio 1. I think I had stopped wearing short trousers to school, but I probably still carried a satchel.'
'So were you in love Martin?' (Oh how I adore her soft scottish brogue)
'Of course Kirsty, I was about that age where I realised that girls existed, obviously they were not as much fun as playing football, or conkers, or hide and seek. But they did make an amusing squeal when you pulled their pig tails or showed them a spider. I think I fell in love with a different girl every week. Fortunately for them, I never actually told them this, actually I never told anyone, especially my mates.
It was years later that I told my mate to tell Emily's mate that I liked her and would she go out with me. I think it was the next breaktime she told her mate to tell my mate that she had dumped me because I was playing football instead of talking to her. In fact, the whole romance blossomed, wilted and ended without a word being exchanged between Emily and myself.'
So have you guessed the
SONG yet?
PS: Emily was not her real name, I have used a nom de plume to protect her innocence!
