Beauty is all around us.

Beautiful Church framed by trees.

As with Blackburn Cathedral which I photographed for my journal yesterday, the external view tells only a small part of the much bigger picture.
This is a 900 year old parish church in Rishton, near Blackburn, Lancashire.
It is dedicated to St. Peter and St.Paul. Inside are some angelic Victorian style stained glass windows and they were funded by people who worshipped God there with their family.
It is quite dark in the main part, as old churches tend to be. The hall is modern and well lit, being used by the local nursery and Churches Together, and various community groups supporting charities. They also run the Alpha course.
The parish saved up to restore the church bell and on a Sunday morning, for weddings and at Christmastime, funerals, and Easter, the lovely sound of church bells call us to gather for service and celebration.
I love the idea of a united Church because I am sure love is about Oneness and togetherness. A Church is a sacred community building for prayer, praise and participation. You can enjoy time time to reflect in the silence and re=discover inner peace.
