Sphinx? Griffin?

This is the erm, thing, that stands on top of the big building at the end of Dunbar high street.

I'm not entirely sure what it is but I do like it (if anyone does know what it is I would appreciate it).

It appears that she has acquired a friend, I didn't notice it until I got the picture up on the computer.
