Amazing

Had a couple of days off this week as it is half term and today took Charlotte to one of our favourite places, Cannon Hall Farm. We had a lovely day - there were newborn piglets and lambs to see, and we had a walk round the gardens and down to the river.

Charlotte enjoyed collecting leaves, acorns, pine cones and anything else she could find to bring home and stick with, and of course the playground.

The highlight of the day however had to be seeing a lamb being born. We were in the right place at the right time. The farmer had to come in and intervene and the first lamb didn't make it, but the second one did. It was amazing to watch how the farmer got it to start breathing by swinging it round by it's legs and then using the straw to clear the mucus. He then had to persuade the mum to come and clean it up and gradually tempt her into a separate pen.

A fascinating day and lovely to spend some time with Charlotte for a change.
