Paradise
Recently I have viewed 2 art exhibitions in Seattle and listened to several lectures about Paradise (Isaac Layman, and Gauguin)-one makes his own paradise , the other is an elusive part of the world. This is mine. I've blipped it many times, I suspect, but it's always different. This is the view, at high tide, from our wharf, soon after arriving mid day today with no moisture falling out of the sky at the moment, and more important, no wind. I love this silver Salish Sea, the reflection of our flags and the misty cloudy islands in the background (you can just see Saltspring Is.)
I did do a tad of tonemapping to get the rocks and the sky together. If you look carefully, our resident heron is hunkered down on the rock outcropping about a third of the way in from the right. I have to reduce the size of the photo quite a bit as it's too slow on the iphone otherwise....
We haven't been here since New Years' so we had a walk all over our property to see if there were any trees down from the high winds in January. Only a few branches. And the power has been on the whole time! (amazing.) Tomorrow "Dr. Daylight" is coming to cut a few limbs and trees overhead --so we'll be talking trees tomorrow...... It's already very calming just to be here in the quiet.......
