MY SHEPHERD

The Dotterel Shepherd, a fibre-glass sculpture, stands on the Dotterel roundabout. It is the creation of Bridlington-based artist Ronald Falck, and was intended to be a powerful and distinctive silhouette against some magnificent skies.
Ronald was taught at the Slade School of Fine Art by Sir Henry Moore. This is a heritage sculpture for the area, portraying the dedication and caring shown by the farming community to their animals.
People on this busy coastal road can enjoy a shepherd and his dog battling the elements as he guards his flock of five sheep, with a single lamb which he is holding protectively under his arm.
