Final Fantasy IX: Chocobo hot & cold

Lately I've been occupied with one of the mini-games in Final Fantasy 9 rather than the main game. In Chocobo Hot and Cold you ride an ostrich-like chocobo-bird and search for treasures. The treasures contain items you can use in the actual game. As you progress in the mini-game the chocobo gains abilities and is able to move in areas you couldn't reach before, climb mountains, swim in the seas and eventually fly, making a few other mini-games/side-quests accessible.

P.S. Many will undoubtedly find this detailed description of the mini-game interesting... or not:)
