Sheep Shed

Many years ago this used to be the village school, then is became a byre. Now it is only used at this time of the year, as a lambing shed. Orkney is cold, wet and windy at this time of the year, and there is not much grass around either. Not the conditions that you'd want to be outside in, giving birth! The ewes are brought in now, for about a month, to be given extra feed and kept cosy.

Ollie and I will keep popping up the hill to keep an eye on proceedings, and will report back, with photographic evidence!
