a little bit of rhubarb

By Puggle

Whilst hackin' at the bracken...

More rain early this morning (nothing unusual this summer, which is the wettest for more than 20 years if the Bureau of Meteorology is to be believed).

Up early to do battle with the bracken, which has a tendency to spontaneously regenerate the second I turn my back on the garden and seems hell-bent on nothing less than world domination.

But before I resumed my massacre of the greenery, I saw this little african daisy flower, still in a tight bud and with tiny drops of moisture clinging to it. Whereupon I paused to admire.....

...... and then commenced my morning of bracken-bent carnage. Futile, I know, but one day - oh yes, one day! - Victory shall be mine.
