and the romance keeps coming.......

Friday was Valentine dinner and dance at my boyfriend's mess. Perks of dating a naval officer - great mess dinners! ( I deleted 'great balls' in case there was any confusion ;O) We had champagne and strawberries on arrival then warm smoked trout and parmesan tart to start, maple glazed duck for main and heart shaped orange shortbread towers for pud. Felt a bit hard done by when the 'coffee and fine chocolates' arrived....a plate of after eights??? ......... All the ladies got a rose and 2 little heart shaped chocs in a little box and we had a 'crooner' singing Sinatra style songs during dinner. Fabulous evening...although I started out the night accompanied by an officer and a gentleman.......and ended up wondering 'what shall we do with the drunken sailor'!! looking forward to the summer ball now which this year falls on my birthday!
