Homespun Charms

By MaryMouse

Our extended family.

This week 'we' have been looking after R's hens and H's hens next door plus the two 'kittens'. Not really 'we' as I have been away for most of the time but Mike has been busy feeding and watering the home alone animals and has been rewarded with quite a lot of eggs. Keep it up girls! Not really kittens now either as they have grown into beautiful young cats. Bandit, the boy, is seen here on our rather scruffy door mat (this is before I cleaned up later in the afternoon!) His people are due back today but he is obviously lonely and came to see us, he seems to have a soft spot for Diesel who is equally fascinated by him. Bracken just takes it all in her stride.
We went for a longer field walk in the afternoon, very pleasant outside though a cool wind is keeping the temperature down. Nevertheless there is a bit of warmth in the sun and it's good to see many of the Spring flowers are now pushing through in the garden.
Just had to tackle some housework later, several days of neglect beginning to show!
Looking forward to an unexpected visit to Kathryn's tomorrow (Wistful Moments). I am promised one of those fabulous meals she is always Blipping and a visit to see the film 'Warhorse' in the evening. Will stay over so we can also sample a glass of late night red together - hopefully! In fact just to make sure I'll raid the stocks and take one down.
