Drum Castle

Mr Scamp and I decided to get out and about today since it was a beautiful day in Aberdeenshire. After having lunch at a garden centre, we headed to Drum Castle in Drumoak, Aberdeenshire. The castle stands at the gates to Royal Deeside.

Drum Castle is the oldest intact building in the care of the national trust for Scotland. The castle itself is a combination of a 13th century tower, a Jacobean mansion house and the additions of the Victorian Lairds. From 1323-1975 Drum Castle was home of the Irvine family.

I liked this side-on shot taken at the back of the castle. I thought it was a bit different and liked the way I could still capture the beautiful blue sky and liked the shadows of the trees on the building.

Mr Scamp and I didn't hang about for long as it was freezing cold, so we headed back to the car just in time before the snow started!!
