Chaffinch

Wasn't tempted to go out for any blips today for fear of getting caught in one of the heavy wintry showers that have persisted. Settled instead for some shots of the birds from the kitchen window. Once again I was trying to get a decent shot of a Great Tit, but couldn't get one I liked.

Instead I settled on this shot of Mr Chaffinch who kindly posed for the camera. He obviously knows he is a handsome chap and almost appears a bit vane. However, his colours are wonderful and his Spring song is one of my favourites, probably because it heralds the change of seasons.

Did head out late in the afternoon for a walk with #2 son and his girlfriend to the beach and back. Fair to say it was pretty bracing, but just what was needed to build up a good appetite for dinner!
