Paella
Happy (Belated) Valentines Diane.
We did our now traditional Valentine meal. The rules - one person does the main, the other does starter and dessert. And it must be something you've never cooked before.
Diane made paella today. It was completely out of this world. Layer upon layer of subtle flavours, textures, spices and aromas. All complimenting each other delightfully. It was a veggie paella, but I would have sworn it had seafood in it. Fabulous.
I baked ciabatta and made a nice bruschetta with it, then a pavlova for dessert - made with a one hour meringue. I'm told the best meringues take hours to slowly cook, but this quick job was pretty tasty!
All in all a lovely night so far, and still plenty of time left.....
