The Earl of Mar, Stirling Castle

He kindly posed for me, dressed in fine robes dating from the 1560's. The Earl is one of the actors in the Palace Rooms of King James V at Stirling Castle. He was very happy to talk about the Palace, the Kings and Queens who have lived there and the recent restoration work. I was particularly interested in the wall hangings, murals, embroideries and tapestries. All of these have been beautiful recreated.

We much enjoyed our tour today, visiting the Chapel Royal, the Palace and the Great Hall. We also watched a weaver working on one of the tapestries - such fine craftsmanship.

Well worth a visit : Stirling Castle.
