Watching Dad Work.....

Simon would quite happily kill the man we bought out house off - if Si wasn't in the trade he is, we would have spent bloody thousands on having the house fixed......having said that I adore our house.

It was built in 1874 by two sisters - Minnie Blackbeard being the one sister. It is a row of four houses and we have a cellar and then three further storeys. It is bloody gorgeous and I love it. it is way to big for the two of us BUT when we drove past and saw the for sales sign it was a done deal (despite not even being in the market to buy a house!). Weirdly, Minnie also built the previous house we lived in and she is buried in the cemetery next to us......Anyway the point of all this garble is that we have been here 3 years today.

And to celebrate, Simon is fixing the gas leak that started last night. His parents came round and we could all smell it - cue, taking up on the floorboards and hunting it out. He and his dad then smashed up the kitchen tiles to find the leak........they are both now fixing said leak.......and cursing the jackasses who didn't seal the pipes properly when they did the extention! But hey, it means we will get a new kitchen floor at some point!

I am just about to head out to do a Mystery Shop with my MiL - she and FiL just want to be out the house. It feels very empty without Olly and Lily so I think they were looking for any reason to be out this morning.

We are heading to a friends for dinner later but before that we have to go and buy the paint ready for the decorator tomorrow - I will Blip our amazing wallpaper later in the week (it is a bit unusual to so the least). I will be, kind of, glad to be in London Monday to Wednesday this week and then come back to all all finished, hopefully!.
