High key: on pointe
Sunday, so ballet day, and I used Emmas ballet lesson as a high key subject. I wanted to direct the viewers attention to the points, rather than the background, so a high-key exposure is ideal for this. I vignetted the background a touch, to lighten the edges of the picture, and washed all the colour out of the studio, leaving 50% colour in the tights and points.
It's a glorious day in the Lakes today, not a cloud in the sky - all a little contrasty to go for high or low-key landscapes. So Emma drove both ways to the ballet school. (Best days driving yet - we'll get rid of those L-plates in a couple of months at this rate).
