Attempt at water!

I've been taking a short micro course which Karl Taylor gives you on his site for free, there was a bit in it about taking pictures of water and his pictures were amazing. Also a friend gave me a book on Landscapes which also included a section of water... putting the two together i headed out today with my family, wellies, dry socks etc and this is what i came up with. Its a far cry from the pictures in the book and on his site but a start.

Any advice would be appreciated, i have only cropped the picture after making the landscape straight. Nothing else is done to it, if i should have done more please tell me... I so want to get better at this as i had lots of fun today trying to do this.
