Marimekko
This day taught me some things. First of all, spring is right here. Bulbs are coming up all over the garden. I got a bunch of native plant starts and planted them, although there are most tiny, and it will be hard to keep track of them. But it was great to dig around, clearing away leaves from the tulips poking out of the ground. There will be crocuses and daffodils pretty soon. It makes me think of one of my favorite books as a child, The Secret Garden.
Second, the house gets dirty if you let it. And cupboards go bare. So we did chores for much of the day. And I made banana bread pudding.
Third, social interactions cannot be predicted or forced. Tonight was our local monthly soup night, but for the first time, only a few people came. Maybe the initial enthusiasm has worn out its welcome. It's always hard to let go of something started. A premonition of what leaving work will be like. Losing a whole universe.
But then there is my Marimekko shower curtain. Bright colors make me happy. I also need people around me to keep me happy. Thank you Robert, for being with me.
