Horton Mill Covered Bridge

Horton Mill Covered Bridge is one of several still standing in Blount County, AL. Open to passenger car traffic until just a few years ago it now sits closed, waiting to collapse from lack of maintenance. Vandalism is beginning to take its toll but the only remedial care has been to paint over spray-painted graffiti.

It's a shame that this landmark most likely will not be here to be enjoyed by my grandchildren.
