Dexter Inspects the New Red Slippers

On Saturday, I bought a pair of new bright-red fuzzy slippers on clearance.

Of course Dexter the Tabby must thoroughly inspect (and chop-slam) anything new that enters the house. It's part of his security screening process: inspect it, mark it.

In this shot, he has just finished sniffing the slippers and pawing at them; he is a bit contemplative, deciding whether the slippers' essential nature is good or evil. Which is to say: whether to permit them to remain, or whether to slay them instead.

(Dexter: "Much to my surprise and consternation, the evil red slippers attacked! And so I slayed them. Surely you understand it is my responsibility to protect you from such things. You're welcome!")

Fortunately for all of us, the fuzzy red slippers passed the test!
