Work, Rest, and Play.

Until the 20th Century 'Rest and Play' were not words that anyone would associate with Scarborough Harbour.

Fishing. Hard Work. Danger.

For centuries, and still today, those words describe how men like the two in the foreground of this photo earn their living from the sea.

In the 20th Century though came boats like the Coronia and Regal Lady, moored to the Vincent Pier in the background, that give pleasure trips to tourists.

And recently part of the Inner Harbour has been turned into a Marina.

Boats for work. Boats for rest. Boats for play.

And of course seagulls.
