CARNIVAL!

Oh to be in Brazil this week! *sigh*

I was fortunate enough to be in Brazil for Carnival three years ago. I cannot begin to describe the fun we had in Olinda and Recife. There were street parties EVERY DAY FOR FIVE DAYS! It was incredible.

I'm told that everyone should go to Rio at least once in their life for Carnival - but I wonder if people realise that you sit/stand in the Sambadrome for HOURS watching the samba schools dance, shimmy and sing their way down a straight route? You don't get involved yourself, you're merely a spectator.

I went to Rio before I left Brazil - it is an amazing place. Hopefully they will have a fab Olympic Games in 2016.
