Stairs
leading to the old Beechmount hospital.
Once upon a time this was the base for the Scottish Wildlife Trust's surveying and ranger teams. We would gather here for write ups and mapping and, when bored, wander up into a turret room with cracking views over towards the Pentlands and to the west of the city. It was a fantastic base.
The trees guiding the stairs are small leaf limes (tilia x europea) which should have looked good in colour, with their reddish, new, growth, but looked awful and not quite real. The camera is a strange toy, almost as strange as memory...
