The Living Years

Shaking off that winter feeling

As it felt like spring was finally springing into action this weekend, I thought I better too. So on the bus yesterday I made a few decisions.

Use Monday afternoons as my time to go to the supermarket and do a proper shop for the week. This is because I've been relying on the non stop a lot, well almost completely over winter. Which means I've been spending too much money and eating mostly rubbish for my dinner. I also cannot resist the tempting treats next to the checkout. I have also started in the last 2 weeks popping to the tuck shop at school for a sandwich for breakfast. Tut tut.

So I went and bought an old lady shopping trolley and went off to the supermarket and stocked up on healthy food (hence the blip).

I am also not allowed to eat on the street. Was reminded by the Graham Norton podcast that this is very common behaviour. It's also like invisible food, you don't count it.

I will also try and start doing some sport again. I need to shake off the hibernation feeling and get back to the promises I made to myself a couple of months ago. My health needs to be important to me.

In other news, I had a good morning at school. Funniest moment goes to 11c. The question was 'My sister's son is my _____'. One of the boys answered 'child, we are a very strange family'. It gave everyone a good giggle on a Monday morning. Was also very happy because one of my students passed their language exam. I'm so proud of him because he worked so hard for it.
