Ridge & Furrow
This is taken out of my bedroom window. In many ways I love this field, it is an ancient ridge & furrow grass field which would have been developed a couple of hundred years ago at least to help wet land drain. I blipped it before when the snow was melting and it created stripes. Now you can see the reflection of the sun's first rays on it from the opposite direction.
However, there are times I'm not the greatest fan of this field. Like yesterday afternoon when I went out for a gentle ride around with Emx and her sister. Now, I'm not a very confident (or good) rider and Bob-the-Cob is feeling very well and fresh. He was raring to go which was ok on the way down the field but when it came to going across the ridges he kept getting faster and faster. The others must have been cringing and my pathetic efforts but I got him round one circuit which involved much jogging on the spot and babbling from me. Then I got off and Kerrie put him through his paces. He tried to mess about on her but she was the boss lol! I must say he makes such a pretty pony to watch and when he's not excited he is lovely to ride too.
The next job for this field is labour and maternity ward. The Jacobs will be moved back in ready to lamb. That way I can keep an eye on them from the house.
N.B i got it completely wrong about the reason and date for ridge & furrow! It seems they're much older and for a different reasen lol! If you're interested have a look here!
