Not many people know that....

Next to the Stout House was the entrance to the Carfax Electric Theatre in Horsham (now a hairdressers). It was here in 1952 that Sir Michael Caine took to the stage for the very first time. Playing a bit-part as a policeman, he was required to deliver the line "come along with me". Unfortunately, he had forgotten to do up his flies and the audience's laughter put him off. He forgot the line. A bad start for an actor, but he got better.
