Another Languedoc year...

You may think February is a bit soon to be taking the pool cover off. I would too under normal circumstances. However I thought perhaps the garden would look more enticing to prospective house-buyers if they could imagine themselves sitting by the pool in the Summer. In a couple of days' time the UV treated water will be crystal clear and spotless.

Today we've had the fantastic landscaping team from La Griffe Verte working with us. They've pruned and trimmed and sawn and clipped and raked and swept the garden into readiness for Spring. The best bit of all is that they took away a huge lorry load of debris so I won't have to make repeated journeys to the tip.

The one nearest the camera on the left is my lovely nephew Josh who has lived here in the Languedoc for ten years. He's now a qualified paysagiste and is completely bilingual to boot. I am deeply envious of his facility with the language and his wonderful new tattoo.

It was 14 degrees today, although the pool is a mere 6 degrees, and the bright sunshine made it possible to imagine that Summer is just around the corner.
