The Carrick

The Carrick aka City of Adelaide (1864) the world's oldest surviving clipper ship lies rotting in Irvine. I think it is a shame that what could become a nice tourist attraction, perhaps not for Irvine (it needs more than a boat) but somewhere in Scotland, has sat like this for so long. Last I read was that it was going to be shipped to Adelaide and the Australians were going to restore it. Can I be bothered raising my blood pressure ranting on about society's budgetary priorities ...maybe another day.
