Confusion
I have been neglecting my bike of late, even to the extent of choosing public transport in the morning on the basis that 'I will run back'. It doesn't happen.
This morning I messed up my cycle journey by cycling the first mile with Steve, without immediately looping back 2 blocks to the usual route. So I found myself twisting and turning to continue east, with one way systems spoiling my rhythm.
Suddenly I found myself on a two way cycle highway and pulled over in shock. So many cyclists were coming at me that I doubted my right to be there.
Then suddenly after several blocks of cycling in this super cycle highway I realised that I had indeed lost my right to be there. It was now a single lane and I had missed the signs.
I survived this section and turned to blip the lane which caught me.
Pet cycling hates of the day:
Tavistock Square
Road markings so thickly painted that they create ridges in the road
People who use wide gates at Waterloo for no good reason
There. Got that off my chest!
I nearly blipped the new Blackfriars Station, now reopened. It looks nice at night so maybe another day...
