Grassy Car
So not so often you see a car covered in Astro-turf....... but hey, did today ;-)
A wonderful lunch with very special people, good chat, some laughs, a change from the usual routine.
Upon arrival at home I received the e-mail that I had been waiting for........
An interview at Northumbria Uni. WOW. I'm stunned, stoked, excited, happy & slightly anxious now.
Tomorrow, in the UK it is the 1 year anniversary of the Big One a devastating 6.7 quake in the heart of my home-town of Christchurch, New Zealand.
But as they are 13 hours ahead the messages are pouring in on fb now, my heart is in Sumner (badly affected suburb) where we lived before having to make a return to the UK, our home is in Sumner, it's been red-Stickered for the last year, and is gradually falling to bits with each of the on-going after shocks (it was only built in 2006). And whilst I irrationally would love to go home tomorrow, it's just not something that is possible at the moment. So I am endeavouring to make the most of what I have here in front of me, but I find that I think of the people and places often, and I guess I'm remembering the past and the fun that we had and I hope that we can have those moments again in the future.
My hope is that at some point in the future I can offer something of myself back to my community. I just miss them so much.
Kia Kaha.
