Homesick.

I've moved about quite a bit in my life, but I have to say I pine most frequently to return to the American Southwest. Waking in the morning, looking south toward the high desert and then north to the mountains, is just something that big city skylines and national monuments can't top. The majesty of nature is just not as apparent, and that I think, is what I miss most.

Above is a detail of much larger (and splendidly done!) painting that a family member gifted white knight and I as a wedding present. It sits front and center in our main living area, and I stand comforted by this facsimile piece of 'home'.
