Lemonade

For a bit of fun in the afternoon, we went to the State Fair.

We walked around, gawked at pigs and cows. Were disappointed to see the poultry and horse buildings empty, are animals there only part time now? Didnt see the miniature donkeys and other promised wonders, but that's ok. I think the miniature donkey must be a hoax. Better that way, else I will have to want one!

We watched all the prize winning exhibits, from furniture to paintings to photos, from vegetables to calves from knitwear to quilts. Some of it I could never do to the level displayed by these people, but other ones I think I could do just as well, if only I hadnt just stopped doing whatever craft or art it is (forget vegetables, I have no patience for time spent weeding and that makes me a lousy gardener).

This is of course not my country so I have no nostalgic feelings about the fair, but the feeling I got thinking of how many things I used to be good at but haven't done much in ages... was quite similar I guess.

Tried to take picture of sneaky fair goers but was too sneaky many turned out blurry. This camera works best close up and in wide angle focals.

We were thrifty and brought a water bottle with us, but still splurged on some freshly made lemonade (with about 3 times the amount of sugar I would put in).

Lemonade is just wonderful.

You can see that they left half of the lemon slaughtered to make the drink in the cup. It makes it clear this is fresh lemonade, but also means they have to give you less drink, since it uses up some of the volume!
