Happy Valentine's Day

We woke up on Valentine's Day, opened the door and found this - so sweet. The guys that ran the resort had put one of these arrangements outside everyone's room. And everyone had exactly the same reaction - open door, see the flowers, smell the flowers (the jasmine was gorgeous), call to other person in the room, go in, come out with camera, take photograph. We're simple souls, aren't we?

Lots of debate in the Indian media about whether Valentine's Day was some hideous American import or something that Indians should celebrate. Perhaps not surprisingly Indian florists love it and their domestic sales on that day now outstrip their exports.
