Spent today in Ashbourne for the Royal Shrovetide Football, Was an interesting and fun day.

The aim is for the Upards people born up from the rivier and the Downards people born downside of the river to score a goal in the other teams goal by any means possible. If that means large men knocking ten bells out of each other then thats ok, where the ball goes the players go be it a garden over a security fence or through a river.
