First signs of spring

Apart from the growing buds on the dog rose bushes down the street, I also came across these gangly crocuses in the green patch outside the supermarket. They've been here for at least 6 years, probably much longer. But strangely enough, I usually see them in late January, and this being a mild winter and all.
