New bridge.
A friend at work brought this photo (taken in the late 1800's) into work to let me see. It shows coal wagons being taken across the second rail bridge to test the viability of the structure.
At the base you can see the remnants of the first bridge which collapsed in the now infamous Tay Bridge Disaster.
Behind the bridge you can see the masts of sail boats docked by the side of the river. Few boats make it this far up the river today. The land has been reclaimed and now houses the runway for Dundee's airport.
Anyway, the image is not the best, but I didn't want to undo the frame so there's lots of glare. Think you can just make out the motion blur of the young lad in the foreground as he turns to look at the camera though.
Many thanks to M for letting me see this.
