The city of Duncan and the municipality of North Cowichan treat their sewage in settling ponds. These also serve as a source of food for ducks and sea gulls who stand on the pipes in the lagoon. Together they create a spotted pattern.

On hot summer days the neighbourhood stinks to sewage. Yuk!
