Spring Flower

Wolston isn't a pretty village. It is a village with some pretty spots and some pretty houses, and a lot of fairly dubious planning decisions. I wanted to show some of that less attractive side today, and certainly I captured some photos that did that, but then the sun came out and I thought I might take somethign a little brighter.

Our garden isn't a pretty garden.

It is a brownfield site, and has had a tough time since our house was built on it, being used as a playground for the kids when we moved in and now the dogs. The soil is thin and the clay is heavy and deep. Getting beds to work has taken a lot of work, trying to get as much organic matter into them as possible, and it is just beginning to pay off,
