Spring Sprig and Shadows

We had some sunshine this morning, so my plans to open my long-neglected paperwork folder were set aside for a little while.

At first I was playing (really, that's what it is!) with shadows on the kitchen table and wall, jazzed up a bit in iPhoto, but what I really wanted to shoot today was the cutting my son gave me from his apple tree pruning here on February 11.

The leaves are now about halfway open, as you see here, just five days after Phil blipped the cutting, still with tight buds, as part of his photo of the trio of blue vases.

I liked the way the light hit the kitchen chair and blue wall, and their abstract shapes, reminders of sun and sky.
