Goldfinch

A beautiful Goldfinch waiting to visit the bird feeder, amazing how they appear as soon as I have topped up with niger seeds.
We have 4 acres of woodland behind the house but last year they nested in the Photinia bush almost on the patio and the year before in the bay tree on the patio.
Seem to like being near the house, they were very successful at raising young,perhaps there are fewer predators in the garden...and we don't have cats.
