My choice for World Book Day. One of the funniest novels ever written. I'm sure the Father Ted writers were influenced by it - the scene where Mrs Doyle tries to identify the name of a priest is a riff on one of the book's scenes. More accessible than At Swim-Two Birds, Flann O'Brien's first book.
