Horror of Whitewash

Don't ever ever ever use whitewash (lime wash) to make something white!

- 30 years ago (in the roaring 70's) my uncle (in his teens) painted his celiing a fashionable brown.
- 26 years ago my grandparents reclaimed the room, whitewashed it to get rid of the brown.
- Today my mother, father and me attacked the ceiling with a pressure washer and used a water vacuum to try and stop everything from flooding. 3 hours later the ceiling is once again brown, there are puddles of water in the room beside and below the dreaded whitewashedceilingroom and we are completely soaked in white water.
