Cavalcade 2012

The Central Otago Cavalcade commenced in 1989, with several horse trails involved. In 1994 they allowed walkers to take part, and I was lucky enough to walk in 8 of them over the next few years. The idea is to walk along all the old gold mining trails dating from in the 1860's. The finish this year was in Cromwell, which is a 40 minute drive from where I live. There were over 500 horses and 100's of walkers involved and 1000's of spectators to see the participants arrive at the Cromwell racecourse.
