When is a wheel nut not a wheel nut?

I've terrible luck with cars, always one after another going wrong so I was annoyed yesterday to notice that one of my wheel nuts was missing.

I got home from work and informed Scott who faffed about searching for a spare nut in my car somewhere. Obviously there wasn't one and we also discovered I didn't have a wheel brace either. I called the Peugeot garage who were about to close and ordered a nut & brace to be picked up the next day. As I was at work, Scott dutifully picked them up and then came to Ampthill to put it on for me.

As you probably already know, the nut wasn't missing at all. It was just the decorative nut on the plastic trim. Opps. At least I got to spend half an hour with Scott and Logan over my lunchbreak! (Also now have a wheel brace which hopefully I won't need in an emergency!)
