Sintra
Today we (again me and a fellow blipper, Inês in the Sculpture) visited Sintra. It's one o the most beautiful places in Portugal. We've arrived late in the afternoon and wondered around the top of the mountain breathing the warm and humid air.
The Sintra-Cascais Natural Park is on the last mountain of the Mountain Range of the Iberian Sistema Central that crosses the Iberian peninsula. It was preserved thanks to a (german born) king of Portugal in the XIX century that wanted to recreate the german florest. He build a beautiful garden and on the top of the mountain, a palace.
So we walked and walked, and even for some meters we walked bare foot, as the path was pristine. Its just splendid to be there.
Almost everyone had gone away, so the forest started to come out to our senses.
By night fall, we decided to visit a near by castle. The fog was so dense (its the foggiest place in Portugal) that we were in awe the all time: the shadows, the dim light, the enchanted woods...
By the time we got up there, we got a message telling us that the moon was being eclipsed... we couldn't be in the ?best? place to see the moonlight.. we hardly could see 2 meters ahead 'cos of the fog!!
Anyway, it allowed us to take some interesting photos right through the night and just contemplate the beauty of Silence.
This was taken in the middle of the path that serpented around the mountain, during the moon eclipse that was well above the mist.
