A view of Catalinas from my area. When I looked at it, it reminded me of California because the mountain is green. It's much more greener during summer because of the monsoon season, while it's more reddish-tan for most of year when it's more dry.

Eastern view of the Catalinas. The Catalinas is much closer to our area on the eastern part because the mountain runs southeast-northwest (so if you drive straight east, you actually get closer to the mountains that way).
