Saturday morning at the track
These youngsters were enjoying their training session in the sunshine.
This morning saw me at a University in London with B whilst he did a 2hr session on Training for Combined Events for coaches and athletes. I offered to go with him after his surgery yesterday in case of problems. I must admit that when the alarm went off at 6.30am, I was regretting my offer, but I had promised, so that was that!!!
He looks as though he has had a session with one of the boxers who had an "out of ring fisticuffs" reported in the news last week. This gained him the sympathy vote from the female coaches and a bit of street cred with the young male athletes.
I tried to sit at the back out of the way and read a book, but as usual someone had to squeeze in behind me. Had we known exactly how many were attending we could have got rid of the spare chairs.
It was a good interactive session and I was amazed at how much of the information I already knew (and I'm no athlete). This house revolves round computers and athletics, so it's not surprising that I've absorbed information in passing over the years!! A great many of the skills are transferrable and can be applied to other aspects of life.
The drive home took longer than anticipated, due to one of the many accidents that occur on the M25.
B's doing a whole day event at Southend tomorrow......I will be going back to sleep at 6.30.......
